The Witness is Now Available for Xbox One

The Witness is out now on Xbox One! We worked very hard on this game (it took over 6 years to make!), and getting it out to the Xbox One community feels really good!

A single-player game in an open world with dozens of locations to explore and over 500 puzzles.

The Witness is a game where you explore an abandoned island and solve the puzzles you find

there. Some of the puzzles are easy, and some of the puzzles are pretty hard. If you ever get stuck, don’t worry; you can always move on to other things, and come back to whatever you were stuck on, later. In the meantime you might solve some other things that remind you of the thing that was blocking you, and this may give you ideas.

Also, sometimes it’s good to take a break! Players of The Witness often report that they will suddenly realize the solution to a puzzle after taking a break, having a snack, or waking up in the morning. The game is designed to work this way — the sudden realization you have at times like these is what the game is all about!

I would discourage watching videos or reading walkthroughs, because this is a very spoilerable game, and it’s very easy to accidentally see more information than you wanted, and ruin a big surprise.
